Privacy Policy

Version 1.2Effective May 15, 2025Last reviewed August 12, 2026

This policy explains how SphereUp handles information in its local-first community app, what stays on your device, when platform providers receive data, and the controls available to you.

1. Scope and operator

This policy applies to the SphereUp mobile application, this website, and support requests about either product. SphereUp Media Ltd. is the product operator for the purposes described here.

2. Information you provide

3. Local-first storage

The current SphereUp client stores account credentials, profiles, community activity, messages, preferences, consent records, and moderation state locally on your device. This release does not operate a remote community-content backend and does not send that local content to SphereUp servers.

Removing the app or clearing its app data can remove locally stored information. Use the in-app export controls before doing so if you need a copy.

4. Device permissions

Camera, photo-library, microphone, and notification permissions are requested only when a related feature needs them. You can decline a request or change access later in system settings. SphereUp does not access the camera, photos, or microphone in the background.

5. Purchases

Star Coin purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Those stores receive payment and transaction information under their own privacy policies. SphereUp receives the purchase result needed to credit the local balance; it does not receive your full card number.

6. Safety and moderation

Text and media you submit may be checked on-device against community-safety rules before publication. Reports, blocks, appeals, and moderation outcomes are stored locally in this client. Private messages are not used for advertising.

7. How information is used

8. Sharing and sale

SphereUp does not sell personal information and does not share local community content for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be disclosed when you direct us to do so, when an app-store purchase requires platform processing, or when disclosure is legally required.

9. Retention and deletion

Local account and community data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Store transaction records are retained by the relevant store under its rules. Support correspondence may be retained only as long as needed to resolve the request and meet legal obligations.

10. Your choices and rights

In Privacy and Permissions you can manage recommendations, notification preferences, device permissions, and data export. Account controls allow correction or deletion of local profile data. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing.

11. Adult eligibility

SphereUp is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Birth date and country are used to enforce eligibility. If those details are incorrect, contact support so the correction can be documented.

12. Security

SphereUp limits data movement by keeping core content on the device. No storage method is perfectly secure, so protect your device passcode and avoid sharing account credentials. Report suspected unauthorized access promptly.

13. Changes to this policy

Material changes receive a new version number and may require renewed consent before publishing or messaging. The effective date above identifies the version currently shipped with the app.
